📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2

Rinse the Swiss chard thoroughly under cold water. Trim the tough stems and finely chop the leaves. Set aside.

3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.

4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

5

Add the chopped Swiss chard to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until wilted and most of the liquid has evaporated (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

6

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

7

Fold the cooked Swiss chard mixture into the egg and cheese mixture and stir until evenly incorporated.

8

Roll out the pie crust and press it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any overhanging edges, leaving about a 1-inch border.

9

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the bottom of the pie crust to help absorb excess moisture.

10

Pour the Swiss chard filling into the prepared pie crust and smooth the surface with a spatula.

11

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the pie is set, and the top is golden brown.

12

Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
