📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

In a small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it's just warm (40–45°C or 105–115°F). Do not boil. Remove from heat and mix in the sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy, indicating the yeast is activated.

2

Melt 50g of the butter and let it cool slightly. In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.

3

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

4

While the dough is rising, prepare the cinnamon filling. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Melt the remaining 25g of butter and set aside.

5

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out onto a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 30x40cm). Brush the melted butter over the surface evenly and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.

6

Starting with the longer side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal, and cut into 12 equal pieces. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll for expanding.

7

Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let the rolls rise for another 30–40 minutes, or until puffed and nearly doubled in size.

8

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the cinnamon buns for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

9

To prepare the cream cheese glaze, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of milk together until smooth and spreadable.

10

Spread the cream cheese glaze generously over the warm cinnamon buns. Serve immediately and revel in their heavenly flavor!
