Ingredients

  • 5 medium Apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1.5 cups Fresh blueberries
  • 0.75 cups Granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups Old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar (packed)
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish and set aside.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, blueberries, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well and transfer the fruit mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 3

In another bowl, stir together the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add the cold cubed butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to work the butter into the mixture until it becomes crumbly and resembles coarse sand.

Step 4

Sprinkle the oatmeal topping evenly over the fruit mixture, completely covering the surface.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.

Step 6

Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Step 7

Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
