📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

2

Rinse and pat dry the pork ribs with paper towels. Remove the silver skin membrane on the back of the ribs if it hasn’t already been removed.

3

In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and brown sugar to create a dry rub.

4

Rub the dry spice mixture evenly onto both sides of the ribs, pressing it into the meat to help it adhere.

5

Place the ribs in a large roasting pan or on a rimmed baking sheet, meat-side up. Pour the apple juice into the pan around (but not directly on) the ribs to create steam as they cook.

6

Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is starting to pull away from the bones.

7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the apple barbecue sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and 1/4 cup of the remaining apple juice. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

8

After 3 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully discard the foil (be cautious of hot steam). Brush a generous layer of the apple barbecue sauce all over the ribs.

9

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or set your oven broiler to high.

10

If grilling, place the sauced ribs directly on the grill grates for about 5-7 minutes per side, brushing on additional barbecue sauce as needed, until the sauce is caramelized and slightly charred. If broiling, place the ribs on a baking sheet under the broiler for 5-7 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

11

Remove the ribs from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes. Slice between the bones for individual servings.

12

Garnish with thin apple slices, if desired, and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
