📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining the spaghetti.

2

While the pasta is cooking, mince the garlic cloves and set them aside.

3

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chili flakes, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

4

Drain the canned tuna, leaving a bit of the oil behind for flavor. Add the tuna to the skillet and break it into chunks with a wooden spoon, stirring gently to combine with the garlic and chili flakes.

5

Zest and juice the lemon. Add the lemon zest, half of the lemon juice, and the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

6

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the tuna mixture. If needed, add reserved pasta water a few tablespoons at a time to loosen the sauce.

7

Toss in the arugula and stir gently until it wilts slightly, about 1 minute. Taste and season with salt, black pepper, and additional lemon juice if desired.

8

If using, grate parmesan cheese over the pasta for extra richness.

9

Serve immediately, garnished with additional chili flakes or lemon zest if desired.
