Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
Trim and blanch the asparagus by boiling them in salted water for 1-2 minutes, then transferring to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.
Lightly pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch using a meat mallet or rolling pin. Be careful not to tear the meat.
