πŸ“ Instructions

10 steps
1

Bring 6 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.

2

Once the water boils, remove the saucepan from heat and steep the 4 rooibos tea bags in the hot water for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired tea strength.

3

While the tea is steeping, peel and thinly slice the fresh ginger and core and thinly slice the apple.

4

Juice the lemon and set the juice aside for later.

5

Remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them. Add the ginger slices and apple slices to the tea while it is still hot. Stir well to infuse the flavors.

6

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes. For a stronger ginger and apple flavor, gently press the fruit with a spoon to release more juices as it cools.

7

Strain the cooled tea into a pitcher to remove the ginger and apple slices.

8

Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey (if using). Adjust the sweetness to taste.

9

Refrigerate the tea for at least 2 hours to chill completely.

10

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
