Perfect for peach lovers, this homemade iced tea recipe is a healthier, more flavorful alternative to store-bought options.
Boil 4 cups of water in a medium-sized pot.
Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and add the black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
While the tea is steeping, wash and peel the peaches. Slice them into small pieces.
In a small saucepan, combine the peach slices with 2 tablespoons of sugar (if using) and 1/4 cup of water. Cook the peaches over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften and release their juices.
Remove the peach mixture from the heat and let it cool slightly. Blend the mixture in a blender or food processor until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp if a smoother texture is desired.
Remove the tea bags from the tea and discard them. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea and the peach puree. Stir well until thoroughly mixed.
Refrigerate the pitcher for at least 1 hour to chill the iced tea.
To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the peach iced tea over them. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Enjoy your homemade Peachy Keen Iced Tea!
