πŸ“ Instructions

11 steps
1

Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

2

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture begins to simmer.

3

Reduce the heat to low and add the flour to the saucepan all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

4

Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.

5

Once cooled slightly, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

6

Stir in the garlic powder, black pepper, and grated mozzarella.

7

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 175Β°C (350Β°F).

8

Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of the dough into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.

9

Fry the mozzarella puffs for 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up, turning occasionally for even cooking.

10

Use a slotted spoon to remove the puffs from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

11

Serve the mozzarella puffs hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara or ranch.
