📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spatula until evenly combined.

3

Form the meat mixture into small, bite-sized meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should end up with around 20-24 meatballs.

4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook them for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned all over. Remove the browned meatballs and set aside.

5

In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet, making sure they are fully submerged in the sauce. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked through.

6

While the meatballs are simmering, slice the mini hero rolls or slider buns in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast them in the preheated oven for 5 minutes or until lightly golden.

7

Once the meatballs are cooked, place 3-4 meatballs onto the bottom half of each toasted roll. Spoon a little extra marinara sauce over the meatballs.

8

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the meatballs. Place the assembled heroes back onto the baking sheet and return to the oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9

Remove the heroes from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and cover with the top half of the rolls.

10

Serve immediately while warm and enjoy your Mini Meatball Heroes!
