Open the can of Spam and slice it into 8 thin pieces.
In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder until the sugar dissolves. Brush the mixture onto both sides of each Spam slice.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the Spam slices and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the pineapple rings and grill for 1-2 minutes per side until caramelized. Remove and set aside.
Slice the Hawaiian sweet buns in half horizontally and spread the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter onto the inside surfaces of each bun. Toast the buns in the skillet until golden brown, about 1 minute per side.
Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise onto the bottom half of each toasted bun.
Layer each sandwich with one lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, 2 pieces of cooked Spam, and a grilled pineapple ring. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve immediately and enjoy your Hawaiian Spam Sandwich!
