📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it hasn’t been removed already. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and season them evenly with salt and black pepper.

3

Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet meat-side up. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.

4

While the ribs are baking, prepare the Hawaiian glaze: In a small saucepan, combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

5

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Gradually whisk the slurry into the saucepan and continue to cook the glaze for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

6

After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil (be cautious of the hot steam). Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

7

Brush a generous amount of the Hawaiian glaze over the ribs and return them to the oven without the foil. Bake for an additional 20 minutes, brushing with more glaze halfway through, until the ribs are caramelized and slightly charred.

8

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds before serving.

9

Serve warm with extra glaze on the side for dipping, and enjoy your delicious Hawaiian Ribs!
