Perfect for beginners and seasoned bakers alike, this recipe uses a food processor for quick and effortless dough preparation, taking the guesswork out of kneading. Made with pantry staples like all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast, this golden, soft, and fluffy loaf is ideal for sandwiches, toast, or slathering with your favorite spread. With just 15 minutes of prep time and simple steps like shaping and rising, youβll have freshly baked artisan-style bread ready in no time. Whether youβre a fan of warm, buttery crusts or tender, airy crumb, this versatile loaf is sure to become a household favorite.
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow the mixture to sit for 5β10 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
Attach the dough blade to your food processor. Add 3 cups of the all-purpose flour and salt to the food processor bowl.
Pulse the dry ingredients together briefly to combine.
With the food processor running on low speed, slowly pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and warm milk through the feed tube.
As the dough comes together, gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup of flour, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Process the dough for another 1β2 minutes to knead it fully. The dough should be smooth and slightly tacky. If it is too sticky, add a small amount of flour (1 tablespoon at a time) and pulse to incorporate.
Lightly grease a large bowl with the vegetable oil or melted butter. Transfer the dough to the bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1β1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Once risen, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently punch it down to release air bubbles. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Cover the pan with the kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise again for about 30β40 minutes, or until it rises just above the edge of the pan.
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25β30 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
