📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a large baking pan.

2

Finely dice the onion and set it aside.

3

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

4

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.

5

Season the cooked meat with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well and remove the mixture from heat. Let it cool slightly.

6

Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Layer a second sheet on top and brush it with butter as well.

7

Spoon a line of the meat mixture along the longer edge of the phyllo dough sheet, leaving some space at the edges.

8

Gently roll the phyllo sheet into a log, tucking in the sides to seal the filling as you roll. Place the roll onto the prepared baking pan, seam side down. Repeat this process with the remaining dough and filling.

9

Once all the rolls are placed on the pan, brush them generously with the remaining melted butter.

10

Pour the water evenly over the rolls to help them stay moist and flaky while baking.

11

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the burek is golden brown and crispy.

12

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
