πŸ“ Instructions

8 steps
1

Peel and dice the onion. Dice the carrot into small cubes.

2

Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the minced beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.

3

Add the diced onion and carrot to the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until softened.

4

Stir in the tomato paste and flour, mixing well to coat the meat and vegetables.

5

Add the beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine, then bring the mixture to a simmer. Cover and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer gently for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6

While the mince is cooking, peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sized chunks. Add the potatoes to a large pot of cold water with a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15-20 minutes or until tender.

7

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and milk, then mash until smooth. Season with salt to taste.

8

Serve the mince hot over a bed of mashed potatoes. Optionally, garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added flavour and colour.
