  • 500 grams Ground sausage meat
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 medium, finely diced Onion
  • 1 clove, minced Garlic clove
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage meat, sautéed onion and garlic, honey, brown sugar, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Cut each puff pastry sheet in half lengthwise to make four long rectangles total.

Divide the sausage mixture into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a long log and place it along the long edge of each pastry rectangle.

Carefully roll the pastry over the sausage mixture, sealing the edges with a little water to form a secure seam. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Beat the egg with the tablespoon of milk to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the pastry rolls with the egg wash, then sprinkle them with sesame seeds.

Using a sharp knife, cut each roll into 3 equal pieces to create 12 sausage rolls. Space them evenly on the baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown and the sausage is fully cooked.
