πŸ“ Instructions

7 steps
1

Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them into halves or quarters.

2

In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the sugar dissolves (about 5–7 minutes). This creates a strawberry syrup.

3

Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the strawberry syrup into a bowl or pitcher, pressing gently on the strawberries to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool slightly.

4

In another pot, bring the remaining 5 cups of water to a boil. Remove it from heat and steep the black tea bags in the hot water for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.

5

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled black tea, strawberry syrup, and lemon juice. Stir well to blend the flavors.

6

Add ice cubes to the pitcher and stir again to chill the tea. Taste and adjust sweetness with more sugar or lemon juice if desired.

7

Serve the strawberry iced tea over additional ice in glasses, garnished with fresh mint leaves for an optional decorative touch.
