Ready in just 20 minutes, this Spamwich is the ultimate go-to for a flavorful lunch or a cozy dinner. Perfect for fans of classic comfort food with a modern twist!
Open the can of Spam and carefully remove it from the packaging. Slice the Spam into 4 even pieces, about 1/4-inch thick.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and swirl it around until melted.
Place the Spam slices into the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each bread slice. Place the bread slices butter-side-down on a clean cutting board or plate.
On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise each.
Layer one piece of lettuce, a few slices of tomato, a slice of cheese, and two slices of cooked Spam on top of the mayonnaise. Add two pickle slices and a small sprinkle of black pepper for extra flavor.
Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, buttered-side up.
Wipe out the same skillet and return it to medium heat. Cook the assembled sandwiches for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted.
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them diagonally, and serve warm.
