📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the angel hair pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

2

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is hot.

4

Add the scallops to the skillet in a single layer and sear undisturbed for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside.

5

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining olive oil and butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

6

Pour in the white wine and chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.

7

Stir in the lemon juice, reserved pasta water, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for an additional 2 minutes to combine the flavors.

8

Add the drained angel hair pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Return the scallops to the skillet and gently combine to rewarm.

9

Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
