📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Place the eggs in a medium-sized saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, remove the pan from the heat, cover it with a lid, and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes.

2

While the eggs cook, caramelize the onion: In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is golden brown and caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

3

After the eggs have finished cooking, drain the hot water and transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water. Let them cool for at least 10 minutes before peeling.

4

Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Carefully scoop out the yolks and place them in a medium mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside on a serving platter.

5

To the bowl with the yolks, add the caramelized onion, sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash everything together with a fork until smooth and creamy.

6

Transfer the yolk mixture to a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag with one corner snipped off. Pipe the filling into the hollowed-out egg whites, mounding it slightly.

7

Optionally, garnish the deviled eggs with finely chopped chives for a pop of color and additional flavor.

8

Chill the deviled eggs in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
