📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a medium-sized baking dish with butter and set aside.

2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.

3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another minute, then stir in the sliced mushrooms. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms have released their liquid and are tender.

4

Remove the casings from the sausage (if applicable) and crumble the sausage into the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Stir in the thyme leaves, if using.

5

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

6

Add the cooked sausage and mushroom mixture to the greased baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and all of the Parmesan cheese on top.

7

Pour the cream and egg mixture evenly over the sausage and mushrooms. Gently shake the dish to ensure the liquid is distributed evenly.

8

Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy finish, if desired.

9

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bake is set in the center.

10

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!
