📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and honey. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top, stir gently, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

2

Add bread flour, whole wheat flour, rolled oats, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, and salt to the bowl with the yeast mixture.

3

Stir in melted butter and milk, and mix until the dough starts to come together.

4

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-7 minutes.

5

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

6

Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a roll and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

7

Cover the rolls loosely with a towel and let them rise for 30-40 minutes, or until puffy.

8

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of the rolls with beaten egg wash for a golden brown finish.

9

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.

10

Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
