📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

Line a rectangular or square baking tin (20cm x 20cm recommended) with parchment paper and set it aside.

2

Place the digestive biscuits into a large ziplock bag and crush them using a rolling pin until they form small crumbs with some larger chunks for texture.

3

In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, add the golden syrup and stir until fully combined.

4

Break the milk chocolate into pieces and add it to the butter and syrup mixture. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

5

Fold the crushed biscuits into the melted chocolate mixture until evenly coated.

6

Gently fold in about 100 grams of Maltesers, leaving the rest for topping. Be careful not to crush the Maltesers too much during this step.

7

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking tin and spread it out evenly with a spatula.

8

Scatter the remaining whole Maltesers over the top, pressing them lightly into the mixture so they stick.

9

If desired, melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the white chocolate over the top of the tray bake for an extra decorative touch.

10

Place the tray in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours or until firm.

11

Once set, remove the tray bake from the tin and slice it into 12 squares or bars. Serve chilled and enjoy!
