📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Place the ribeye steak in the freezer for 15 minutes to make it easier to slice thinly.

2

While the steak chills, slice the green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and yellow onion into thin strips. Mince the garlic cloves.

3

Once the steak is semi-frozen, use a sharp knife to thinly slice it against the grain into strips.

4

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak slices, season with the salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

5

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced bell peppers and onions and sauté for 5-6 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

6

Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables and mix everything together. Remove from heat.

7

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the hoagie rolls open, leaving one side intact, and place them on a baking sheet.

8

Divide the steak and vegetable mixture evenly among the hoagie rolls. Top each sandwich with 2 slices of provolone cheese.

9

Place the sandwiches in the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the bread is lightly toasted.

10

Remove the sandwiches from the oven and serve immediately. Enjoy your Italian Steak Sandwiches!
