📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

Press the tofu to remove excess moisture: Wrap the tofu block in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 10 minutes.

2

Cut the tofu into 2cm cubes and set aside.

3

In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 2 cloves of minced garlic, ground coriander, ground turmeric, and 2 tablespoons of coconut milk. Whisk until well combined.

4

Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and toss gently to coat. Cover and let marinate for 15–20 minutes.

5

Meanwhile, soak the wooden skewers in water to prevent burning during grilling.

6

Prepare the peanut sauce: In a small saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add 1 clove of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

7

Add the peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 60 milliliters of water, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, brown sugar, chili flakes, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and heated through. Add more water if the sauce is too thick. Set aside.

8

Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the soaked skewers.

9

Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat. Brush with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

10

Grill the tofu skewers for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly charred on all sides.

11

Serve the tofu satay drizzled with peanut sauce and garnished with fresh cilantro.
