📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

2

While the pasta cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it into smaller chunks with a spatula, until it is browned and cooked through. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

4

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the finely diced onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened, then add the minced garlic. Cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

5

Stir in the tomato paste, cooking it for about 1 minute to deepen its flavor.

6

Add the tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, red chili flakes (if using), and the reserved beef. Pour in 1/4 cup of the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

7

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and black pepper if necessary.

8

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it in the sauce until well coated. If the sauce seems too thick, add more of the reserved pasta water, a few tablespoons at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.

9

Cook for 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld together, then remove the skillet from heat.

10

Serve the fried beef and pasta hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley. Enjoy!
