📝 Instructions

14 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.

2

Add the warm water (around 120°F to 130°F) and softened butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough starts to form.

3

Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes by hand or using a stand mixer with a dough hook, until it is smooth and elastic.

4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

5

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the risen dough into a large rectangle (approximately 12 x 18 inches).

6

Sprinkle 1.5 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the surface of the dough.

7

Carefully roll the dough into a tight log starting from one of the long edges, pinching the seam to seal it once rolled.

8

Place the dough seam-side down onto a greased or parchment-lined loaf pan.

9

Cover the loaf with a clean towel and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.

10

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

11

Before baking, sprinkle the remaining mozzarella (0.5 cup) and cheddar (0.5 cup) on top of the risen dough for a golden, cheesy crust. Optionally, sprinkle garlic powder and dried Italian herbs for extra flavor.

12

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

13

Remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

14

Serve warm and enjoy the melty, double-cheese goodness!
