📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

3

Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

4

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, and ground black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and flavorful.

5

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

6

In a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread half of the cooked spaghetti evenly. Pour half of the tomato sauce over the spaghetti and mix gently to coat the noodles.

7

Spread half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauced spaghetti. Add the remaining spaghetti, followed by the rest of the sauce, and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

8

Distribute the pepperoni slices evenly over the top layer of cheese. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are lightly browned.

10

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

11

Slice and serve hot. Enjoy your Classic Pizzaghetti!
