In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook the chicken patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Lower the heat and wipe the skillet clean. Add marinara sauce to the pan and warm it through for 1-2 minutes.
Place cooked chicken patties back in the skillet on top of the marinara and spoon a little sauce over each patty.
Top each patty with a slice of mozzarella cheese, cover the skillet with a lid, and let the cheese melt, about 2 minutes.
In a small saucepan, melt unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Brush the inside of each burger bun with the garlic butter and lightly toast in a separate skillet or toaster oven until golden.
Assemble the burgers by placing each chicken patty on the bottom bun. Add a fresh basil leaf on top of the cheese and cover with the top bun.
Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Chicken Parmburgers!
