📝 Instructions

7 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined but do not overwork the meat.

2

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty that is slightly larger than the size of the burger bun.

3

Take half the shredded or sliced cheddar cheese and gently press it into the center of each patty. Fold the edges of the meat over the cheese and reshape into a patty to encase the cheese completely.

4

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Once the pan is hot, add the patties and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature of the patty reaches 160°F (71°C). Avoid pressing the patties down with the spatula, as this can squeeze out the juices.

5

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on another skillet or in a toaster until lightly golden.

6

Assemble the burgers by layering a lettuce leaf, a cooked burger patty, a slice of tomato, and a few onion slices (if using) on the bottom half of each bun. Top with additional shredded cheddar cheese, ketchup, and mayonnaise if desired.

7

Place the top half of the bun on the burger and serve immediately with your favorite sides like fries or a salad. Enjoy!
