Crispy, golden, and bursting with savory flavor, these homemade tuna patties are a quick and satisfying meal solution that comes together in just 25 minutes! Made with pantry staples like canned tuna, breadcrumbs, and mayonnaise, these patties are expertly seasoned with Dijon mustard, garlic, onion, and fresh parsley for a deliciously herby touch. Perfectly pan-fried for a crunchy exterior while staying tender inside, theyβre versatile enough to serve as an appetizer, a main dish paired with a crisp salad, or even tucked into a sandwich for a gourmet twist. Ideal for busy weeknights or a budget-friendly meal, this tuna patty recipe delivers big on flavor with minimal effort.
In a large mixing bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork, breaking up any large chunks.
Add the breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. The mixture should hold together when pressed; if itβs too dry, add a little more mayonnaise, one teaspoon at a time.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions (or 6 smaller ones, if preferred) and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties into the skillet, being sure to leave space between them.
Cook the patties for 3β4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a spatula to flip them gently to avoid breaking them.
Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce, salad, or as a filling for sandwiches.
