📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan, then line it with parchment paper.

2

Place the tea bags in a heatproof cup and pour the boiling water over them. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.

3

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes using an electric mixer or whisk.

4

Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.

5

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

6

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with the cooled tea, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

7

Fold in the lime zest and lime juice gently until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

8

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

9

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.

10

Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

11

To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and lime juice in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf, letting it run down the sides.

12

Slice and serve! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
