📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil. Add the dried hibiscus flowers, stir, and remove from heat. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.

2

While the hibiscus steeps, place the fresh raspberries, fresh mint leaves, and granulated sugar in a large pitcher or mixing bowl.

3

Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently crush the raspberries and mint leaves to release their juices and oils. Do not over-mash them into a paste.

4

Strain the hibiscus tea through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into the pitcher with the muddled raspberries and mint, discarding the hibiscus flowers.

5

Add the lime juice and 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

6

Taste the agua fresca, and adjust sweetness with additional sugar if desired. Stir to dissolve any added sugar.

7

Chill the drink in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or serve immediately over ice.

8

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the agua fresca over the ice, and garnish each glass with a sprig of mint and two fresh raspberries on top.
