📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth it out. Using a 2.5-inch round cookie cutter, cut out 12 circles. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

3

Finely chop the mushrooms, shallot, and garlic.

4

Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the shallot and garlic, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

5

Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until most of the moisture has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes.

6

Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

7

In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to create an egg wash. Use a pastry brush to lightly brush the edges of each puff pastry circle.

8

Spoon a small amount of the mushroom filling onto the center of each pastry circle, leaving the edges clear.

9

Bake the tarts in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and cooked through.

10

Remove from the oven and let the tarts cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature for a delicious appetizer.
