📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, cilantro, lime juice, and diced jalapeño.

2

Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burger patties tough.

3

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties, about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help the burgers cook evenly.

4

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

5

Once the oil is hot, place the burger patties in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the second side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

6

During the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, add a slice of pepper jack cheese to each burger patty and cover the pan with a lid to melt the cheese.

7

Remove the burger patties from the pan and let them rest for 2-3 minutes.

8

To assemble the burgers, spread a layer of guacamole on the bottom half of a toasted burger bun. Top with a lettuce leaf, a cooked burger patty, tomato slices, onion rings, and a spoonful of salsa. Place the top half of the bun on top.

9

Repeat with the remaining buns and ingredients. Serve immediately and enjoy your Mexican Beef Burgers!
