πŸ“ Instructions

8 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

2

Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get approximately 18–20 meatballs.

3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches if necessary, add the meatballs to the skillet and brown them on all sides. They do not need to be fully cooked at this stage. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

4

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, scraping up any browned bits left from the meatballs. Once melted, sprinkle in the flour and whisk constantly for about 1–2 minutes to create a roux.

5

Slowly pour in the beef stock, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it thicken, about 3–4 minutes.

6

Stir in the heavy cream, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

7

Return the browned meatballs to the skillet, spooning some of the gravy over them. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the meatballs simmer in the gravy for 15–20 minutes, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165Β°F (74Β°C).

8

Serve the meatballs hot, smothered in gravy, over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
