📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium heat.

2

Cook the Italian sausage links on the grill for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are fully cooked and have a nice char on the outside. Remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes, then slice each sausage lengthwise in half.

3

While the sausages are cooking, slice the ciabatta rolls in half lengthwise. Drizzle the cut sides with olive oil and sprinkle with a light pinch of salt and pepper.

4

Heat a small skillet over medium-low heat and sauté the minced garlic in 1 tablespoon of olive oil for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

5

Layer each ciabatta roll with 2 slices of provolone cheese, 2 halves of Italian sausage, a few roasted red pepper strips, fresh basil leaves, and a drizzle of the sautéed garlic oil. Close the sandwich with the other half of the roll.

6

Preheat a panini press or a large skillet. If using a skillet, press the sandwich down firmly with a spatula or another heavy pan, flipping once halfway through cooking.

7

Cook panini for 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted.

8

Remove the sandwiches from the heat and let them cool slightly before serving. Slice each panini in half and enjoy!
