πŸ“ Instructions

13 steps
1

In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm 240 ml of milk until just warm (about 40Β°C or warm to the touch). Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted. Add the granulated sugar and let cool slightly.

2

Sprinkle the yeast over the milk mixture and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and the yeast-milk mixture. Add the egg and mix until a soft dough forms.

4

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for about 5–7 minutes.

5

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6

While the dough rises, prepare the filling. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside the golden raisins and chopped pecans.

7

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 35 cm x 25 cm.

8

Spread softened butter (about 30 g) evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture on top, followed by the golden raisins and chopped pecans.

9

Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal and cut the log into 12 equal slices.

10

Place the rolls cut side up in a greased or parchment-lined 9x13 inch pan. Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes, or until puffy.

11

Preheat your oven to 175Β°C (350Β°F). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

12

While the rolls bake, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 tbsp of milk until smooth.

13

Remove the rolls from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!
