📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

Peel and chop the Yukon Gold potatoes into evenly sized chunks for uniform cooking.

2

Place the potatoes into a large pot and fill it with enough cold water to cover the potatoes by at least 1 inch.

3

Add a pinch of salt to the water and bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

4

While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the roasted garlic. Heat a small skillet over low heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the garlic cloves and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes until golden and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

5

Drain the cooked potatoes in a colander and return them to the hot pot to remove excess moisture.

6

Using a potato masher or ricer, mash the potatoes until smooth.

7

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and remaining butter over low heat until the butter has melted and the mixture is warmed through. Do not boil.

8

Add the warmed cream mixture, roasted garlic (mashing the cloves slightly with the back of a spoon), salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Stir until well combined and creamy.

9

Finely chop the parsley and chives, and fold them into the mashed potatoes.

10

Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper, if needed.

11

Serve the Garlic Herbed Mashed Potatoes hot, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh herbs on top for presentation.
