Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, egg, milk, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Roll the meat mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. You may need to do this in batches.
Remove the browned meatballs from the skillet and place them into a large saucepan. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
While the meatballs are simmering, prepare the sub rolls. Slice them in half lengthwise, but donβt cut all the way through. Mix butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl, then spread this mixture on the inside of each roll.
Toast the prepared rolls on a baking sheet in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Once the rolls are toasted, place a few meatballs and a generous spoonful of marinara sauce into each roll. Top each sandwich with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
Return the sandwiches to the oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
