Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add sliced onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes to caramelize.
Pour in vegetable broth and beer, then add dairy-free Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
