📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking liquid and then drain the pasta. Set aside.

2

While the pasta cooks, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Remove the asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

3

In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4

Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes to combine.

5

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

6

Add the diced ham and cooked asparagus back into the skillet. Stir to combine and let them warm through for about 2 minutes.

7

Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta cooking liquid to reach your desired consistency.

8

Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
