📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

In a small bowl, prepare the Frisco sauce by mixing Thousand Island dressing, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Stir until smooth and set aside.

2

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into thin, oval patties slightly larger than the bread slices. Season each patty evenly with salt and black pepper on both sides.

3

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

4

Reduce the heat to medium and wipe the skillet clean. Butter one side of each sourdough slice.

5

Assemble the sandwiches. Place one slice of buttered bread (butter side down) on the skillet. Layer one slice of Swiss cheese, a cooked beef patty, a slice of American cheese, and another buttered bread slice (butter side up). Repeat this process for all sandwiches.

6

Cook the assembled sandwiches for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted.

7

Once cooked, remove the Frisco Melts from the skillet. Carefully open each sandwich and spread a generous layer of prepared Frisco sauce on the inside of the bread. Close the sandwiches back up.

8

Slice each Frisco Melt in half and serve immediately with your favorite sides like fries or a salad. Enjoy!
