πŸ“ Instructions

11 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 275Β°F (135Β°C).

2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for a more tender result. This can be done by sliding a knife under the membrane and pulling it away using a kitchen towel for grip.

3

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar to create the dry rub.

4

Rub the seasonings generously onto both sides of the ribs, pressing it in to ensure the flavor adheres well.

5

Place the ribs on a large sheet of aluminum foil. Drizzle the olive oil over the ribs, then fold the foil tightly to seal them in a packet.

6

Place the foil packet on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours, or until the ribs are tender and a knife slides in easily.

7

While the ribs bake, prepare the basting mixture by combining the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and water in a bowl. Stir until smooth.

8

Once the ribs are done baking, preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat (or heat a stovetop grill pan).

9

Remove the ribs from the foil packet and place them on the grill. Brush the ribs with the basting mixture, turning and basting frequently, for about 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce caramelizes and develops a slight char.

10

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

11

Serve the ribs warm with additional barbecue sauce on the side if desired.
