In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the eggs, milk, and water.
Mix until the dough starts to come together, then transfer it to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.
While the dough rests, prepare the fruit filling. In a small saucepan, combine the fruit, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and 2 tablespoons of water.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like in consistency. Set aside and let it cool to room temperature.
After the dough has rested, roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
Use a round cutter (about 3-4 inches in diameter) to cut out circles of dough.
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the fruit filling onto the center of each dough circle.
Fold the dough in half to enclose the filling, creating a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly with your fingers, then seal them further with the tines of a fork.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a gentle boil. Carefully drop the Wareneki into the water in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the dumplings float to the surface. Remove them with a slotted spoon and transfer to a serving dish.
Optional: Melt the butter and drizzle it over the cooked Wareneki before serving.
Serve warm with a dollop of sour cream or a drizzle of sweet cream on the side.
