📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and granulated sugar.

2

Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the bowl and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

3

Mix in the egg yolk and cold water, then bring the dough together with your hands. Form it into a disk, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it for 30 minutes.

4

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

5

Roll the chilled dough out on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press it into the pan, trimming any excess dough.

6

Prick the base of the pastry with a fork, line it with parchment paper, and fill it with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and bake for another 5 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside to cool.

7

In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir until the mixture begins to bubble.

8

Add the unsalted butter and stir it in until fully melted and combined.

9

Add the chopped walnuts to the saucepan and stir to coat them evenly with the caramel mixture.

10

Pour the walnut filling into the prepared tart shell, spreading it evenly.

11

Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden.

12

Remove the tart from the oven and allow it to cool completely before slicing and serving.
