📝 Instructions

14 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F) and place a baking stone or an inverted baking sheet inside to heat up.

2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the water and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.

3

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.

4

While the dough is resting, prepare the onions by slicing them thinly.

5

In a pan over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add the sliced onions, cooking until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and set aside.

6

In a small bowl, mix the sour cream with the crumbled goat cheese, and season with slightly more salt and ground black pepper to taste.

7

Roll out the rested dough into a thin oval or rectangular shape, approximately 10x14 inches.

8

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a piece of parchment paper.

9

Spread the sour cream and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

10

Distribute the caramelized onions over the top.

11

Carefully transfer the parchment with the Flammkuchen onto the preheated baking stone or baking sheet.

12

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is crispy and golden brown.

13

Once baked, remove from the oven and top with fresh chives and thyme leaves.

14

Cut into pieces and serve immediately.
