πŸ“ Instructions

8 steps
1

In a large bowl, combine the flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add the vegan margarine and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to incorporate it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2

Add the cold water gradually and mix until it forms a dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

3

Preheat your oven to 200Β°C (390Β°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

4

Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces. In a mixing bowl, toss the apples with lemon juice, the remaining sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.

5

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry dough to about 3 mm thickness and cut it into rectangles approximately 12x15 cm in size.

6

Place a spoonful of the apple mixture on one half of each rectangle, leaving a border. Brush the edges with almond milk, fold over the dough to enclose the filling, and press down the edges with a fork to seal.

7

Place the turnovers on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with almond milk and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

8

Allow the turnovers to cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
