πŸ“ Instructions

9 steps
1

Press the tofu to remove excess water by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top for 10 minutes. Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.

2

Wash and chop the bok choy into bite-sized pieces. Separate the leafy greens from the thicker stems as they require different cooking times.

3

Mince the garlic and ginger, and slice the green onions thinly. Set these aromatics aside.

4

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, cornstarch, water, and red chili flakes (if using) to create the stir fry sauce. Whisk until smooth.

5

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove the tofu and set aside.

6

In the same skillet, add sesame oil and stir in the minced ginger and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.

7

Add the bok choy stems to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes. Then, add the leafy greens and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until tender but still crisp.

8

Return the tofu to the skillet along with the stir fry sauce. Toss everything together to coat and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

9

Garnish the stir fry with sliced green onions and serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.
