Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to come to room temperature. Pat them dry with paper towels.

Season the steaks on both sides with half the salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Set aside while preparing the vegetables.

Slice the bell peppers into thin strips and the onion into similar-sized slices. Mince the garlic cloves.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced peppers and onions to the skillet with the remaining salt and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes until the vegetables are softened and lightly caramelized.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Transfer the vegetables to a plate and keep warm.

Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time to your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, 140°F (60°C) for medium, and 150°F (65°C) for medium-well.

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes to retain their juices.
